This jacket was created from a quilt I salvaged from the goodwill outlet. This quilt was made from the feedsacks that people used during the 30's and 40's to make clothing for their families.  This quilt had been forgotten in a shed or other outdoor sheltered area, and was covered with grime, including wasp nests when I saved it from the landfill.  Restoring the quilt involved several gentle soakings and washes, along with an oxyclean treatment. The jacket you see was salvaged from the parts that were usable.  Even on the usable parts, there were stains and holes, but I have patched each with an applique butterfly from a recycled garment. The resulting garment represents 9 hours of work, and is 100%recycled, even the patches, thread, and trim. It is hand washable, and must drip dry to preserve the workmanship and character.
